b2b technology copywriting case study

Could one piece of content fill your quarterly pipeline?

Snapshot

The role of the Chief Data Officer is changing fast. What was once a governance-focused position is now tied to some of the most urgent strategic priorities inside large organizations, from making AI actually work to addressing growing regulatory scrutiny around data.

For one global data management company, this shift created an opportunity: engage CDOs as both buyers of technology, and senior leaders being challenged by boards to deliver more value.

The result was a thought leadership programme built around the theme “Powering growth through the Office of the CDO.”

APPROACH

Combining original research, expert interviews, and a structured content strategy, the campaign focused on the real challenges facing enterprise data leaders, and the increasingly central role they now play in driving growth.

By aligning closely with that reality, I helped the company position as a credible strategic partner to senior data leaders, driving more than $21 million in pipeline.

Results

The plan concentrated budget in a series of five high-performing thought leadership pieces published on a bi-monthly cadence. Most notable among these was a single asset that drove more than $6 million in new pipeline opportunities over a roughly 6-month period.

Developed entirely without AI, the staggered content campaign reinforced the value of premium, copy-driven marketing connected to real CDO priorities.

Key metrics:

  • $21M+ in total enterprise pipeline opportunities generated

  • $6M in pipeline driven by a single long-form content asset

  • Sustained lead generation more than 12 months after launch

  • Core assets continuously refreshed and re-versioned across channels

  • Ongoing engagement with a global audience of senior data leaders

  • Big business impact from a realtively small number of flagship pieces
